Working

I was constantly astonished by the extraordinary dreams of ordinary people no matter how bewildering the times, no matter how dissembling the official language. Those we call ordinary are aware of a sense of personal worth or more often the lack of it in the work they do As Nora Watson said Most of us have jobs that are too small for our spirit. Our real imaginations have not yet been challenged. Yet there are those who in their search for beauty, in their sense of personal pride, in  their natural abundance refuse to be demeaned. They call upon their imagination and transcend their daily lot.
This is not me. It is a quote from Stud Terkel's Working - the DVD of the musical I'm watching.  Quite a poignant piece, which seems to philosophically revolve the quote above.
